Me and my links, Plus...Blue Pony

So the contact me link in my last post doesn't work, what a surprise...anyway, it's randy@ourhousecraft.com

BLUE PONY ANTIQUES & ART is located at 2655 HWY 8 east of Cameron, Wisconsin. We have had antiques, Lisa's painted jars, and other stuff there since last winter. Its been nice, but not really good enough to be worth the time and effort of keeping it stocked. So... we'll be closing out our booth by the end of September. I was in today and marked down a lot of items, some of them as much as 60% off! THIS IS IT, though. We won't be making any further mark-downs, and anything that's left to be brought back to our shop will go back to regular price. If you want some big discounts on some neat stuff, stop in, or give them a call at 715-859-2878. We have a cream and black Hoosier-style cabinet marked down to $495.00, for example.

When we get closer to the October 14th consignment auction I'll try to post a listing of what we'll be sending down to it on this blog, as well as the complete auction listing which will be available at the auctioneer's website (see link in my last post...that one does work).

Later, Randy

Travel plans

As of now it looks like I'll be heading south to Madison/Janesville, Wisconsin around the middle of next week, and staying until about the 12th or 13th of September. I have some things to do concerning my new business, plus visiting friends, etc. If anyone in that area wants anything delivered, let me know.

On another subject, for those of you interested in antiques and collectables, it looks like there will be a consignment auction at Brodhead, Wisconsin on November 14th. We'll have a lot of stuff there, and it should be a very nice fall auction. Keep checking this link for details, and if you are in that area and have anything you want to have sold. I'll try to keep you posted here as well.

Later.

Another thank you to Andy!

Thanks again to my bro-in-law, Andy, you should be able to see my eBay stuff by clicking on eBay stuff where it shows up in blue. And my Yahoo! Auction stuff should work the same way. We'll see.

Sleds

Lisa spends most of her time lately painting on glass, but I recently got these 2 old sleds at an auction. She painted them last week, and she hasn't forgotten how to paint on wooden stuff. We'll have one or both of them at shows with us on weekends, and in the shop otherwise, until they sell. They are priced at $62.50 each. If you happen to want one, you can e-mail me and we'll work out the details randy@ourhousecraft.com

Later, Randy

Twenty years in this business.

Before Lisa and I even met we had both been collecting various things, and we had both done Arts & Crafts shows. But as a pretty much full-time business, we started with selling antiques and collectables and junque at flea markets in southwestern Ohio and southeastern Indiana in June of 1986. Then in September of '86 we set up at our first actual antique show, and also at our first Arts & Crafts show together with just hand-stenciled and block-printed notecards and greeting cards, and a few other small crafts. So, we are officially celebrating(?) our Twntieth Anniversary in the business this September. Of course, by May of 1987 we had opened our first shop, so that 20th will be coming up in the spring.

For all of our Marquette area friends, the WLUC-TV6 Fall Harvest Arts & Crafts Show is coming up on September 22nd, 23rd & 24th - we'll be sending out a mailing in a few days.

Then on the following Saturday (September 30th) is the Crafts Day and free park admission at Copper Falls State Park outside Mellen, Wisconsin.

We hope to see you at one of these shows, or some of the others we'll be at every weekend - see our full schedule in an earlier post, and I'll update as we book more shows.

Yahoo! Auctions are back!

Big news for everyone!!

In addition to our online store, www.OurHouseCraft.com we also list a lot of stuff on eBay and on Yahoo! Auctions. We haven't had much on eBay lately just because I haven't been taking the time to list stuff. Believe it or not, it's more tedious and time-consuming to list on eBay than on Yahoo! Auctions (plus Yahoo! is free), and the reason we haven't had much on Yahoo! is that their system has not been working for subscribers to some isp's (including ours) for several weeks. THEY HAVE IT FIXED as of yesterday. I've been relisting some of our unsold stuff so far, and I'll be getting new stuff on soon. You will want to keep checking these out because you never know what I'll be listing (pink and yellow glass-like space rock, anyone?). I'm not quite clear on how to link to these sites, so here is what you'll have to do: For eBay, go there and search for the user name ourhousecraft; for Yahoo! go to the Yahoo! page, click on the "more Yahoo! services" link, click on "auctions", then on the auctions homepage search for the user name jedwillspike.

Good luck on that rock!

Rutabagas and Labor Day

We just finished the Cumberland, Wisconsin Rutabaga Festival craft show. The craft show was good, though I'm not big on rutabagas (one bar was selling rutabaga fries, like french fries, yum?).

Anyway, next Saturday and Sunday Lisa and the boys will be at the Port Wing, Wisconsin Fish Boil (the largest fish boil in Wisconsin) for a craft show, and I'll be in Shell Lake, Wisconsin (on HWY 63 between Spooner and Cumberland) for a craft and some antiques show at least on Saturday and probably Sunday as well.

We're also running an end-of-the-season Labor Day Weekend antique and collectable furniture sale in our shop this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. All furniture in the shop will be marked down from 10% to 50%!! Then we go to our fall hours in the shop through most of September, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10:00am to 4:00pm.

And... At the end of September we'll be leaving our booth at the Blue Pony antique and art shop on HWY 8 east of Cameron, Wisconsin, so we will have close-outs tagged there by Labor Day Weekend as well.

And... Speaking of Cameron, Wisconsin. Saturday, September 9th should be their craft show and flea/farmers' market on the streets of downtown. Not sure yet, but if it is we'll be there, and/or wherever else comes up.

Finally, we got the date for the craft show at Copper Falls State Park at Mellen, Wisconsin, and it is Saturday, September 30th. It's a fun, small craft show, and no State Park admission sticker is required that day. If you aren't familliar with Copper Falls, just the park is worth the trip even without the craft show.

Learning something new

Thanks to my brother-in-law, Andy Martello, I have learned how to add links to the sidebar of this blog. Now there sre some, so check them out.

Randy

Life is ever-changing. Re.: 9/16

We will be at Amery on the 16th after all. The show is still full, but they decided to add another row of vendor booths.

So..... Mark your September 16th calendar for both Chetek and Amery - I'll be at one and Lisa will be at the other!

September 16th schedule change!!!

The Arts & Crafts show at Amery, Wisconsin is full - so we won't be there. We don't get closed out of shows very often, and I don't like rejection.

So... we'll only be at the Harvest Fest in Chetek, Wisconsin (south of Rice Lake, just off of
HWY 53) on the 16th - see you there.

I just got home last evening from doing the Father Marquette Days craft show in Montello, Wisconsin. It was a very nice little show and a great event overall - car show, food and beer, softball, pie and ice cream, etc. They're planning to combine it with another festival next year. Don't know what the dates will be yet, but we'll probably be there if it doesn't conflict with some other show.

Lisa's show in Barnes, Wisconsin was also very nice, and they're planning to do it again next year.

Cumberland Rutabaga Fest this Saturday - 8/26 - se you there!!
